vibe: 4 | quality: 4 | service: 4.5 | selection: 3 A very nice spot in a small strip of shops farther north off Sawmill. The layout is basically one rather large room with a major and sub bar area. A small entertainment area is also featured. A rather oddly placed outdoor pation area looked to be added on. Didn't try the food but it did look to be a major feature here. The beer selection is not huge, but it does have decent quality - notable were Otter Creek O-fest and Harpoon IPA on tap along with newly-added Snake River in the bottle cooler. Also there were Bell's, Samuel Smith, Sam Adams, St. Pauli and some macros. Lots of parking, a sports bar a couple of doors down, and a very helpful and friendly staff here add to the attraction. The place is designed after a favorite spot of the owners by the same name in Florida. This isn't Florida, but it is a nice spot for a beer. 841 characters
3.88/5 rDev +0.3% vibe: 4 | quality: 4 | service: 4.5 | selection: 3 | food: 4 Located off Sawmill Rd in Powell (near Dublin), Ohio. Part of a mini-mall and a couple doors down from another bar, the Crown Sports Lounge. The parking lot is big enough that there are usually spots not too far away. Inside there are 2 separate bars with seating between them. The atmosphere is kind of a mix between a sports bar and Margaritaville. Lots of wood with a small stage for the local live bands that play there regularly. There is also a small room reserved for pool. They have recently added a small patio as well. The beer selection is not great, but they make do. There are between 10-15 draughts between the 2 bars, and aside from the usuals you can find Flying Dog, Stoudt's, Founder's, and Otter Creek to name a few. The bartender went as far as to show me his distribution sheet and said they switch out the 'unique' beers about once a month which is a nice touch. They were running a Stoudt's APA special the night we were there - $5/pint including a Stoudt's glass. As for bottles, there are a couple Bell's and Sam Smith's amongst the normal claptrap. The bar staff is very knowledgeable and even offered samples. The food has a Key West flare. Lots of seafood entrees like Alaskan Snow Crab, mussels, catfish, mahi mahi, etc. The Mesquite Mahi Mahi is better as an entree than a sandwich. The Blackened Catfish is another good dish to try. Overall, this place doesn't have a stellar beer selection but between the laid back tropical feel and good food it is worth checking out if you are in the area. 1,537 characters ![]() Comments are closed.
